Our Primary Care Team
All of our physicians are certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and have years of experience in their area of specialty. Our Family Nurse Practitioners are also certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Together, we seek to provide excellent, informed and consistent care at all times.
Gaurang Thaker, MD, MPH, Internal Medicine
Gaurang serves as the medical administrator of Olney Medical Group. He graduated from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine and Johns Hopkins University with a Masters in Public Health. With over 30 years of experience, Dr. Thaker leads a patient-focused and compassionate environment in the practice.
Amit K Vij, MD, Internal Medicine
Dr. Amit Vij grew up in Gaithersburg and is a medical graduate from Howard University. After completing his Internal Medicine training at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, he has returned to the area and also practices in Olney as a hospitalist. He speaks fluent Hindi, basic Spanish and is a part time provider at OMG.
Mayra Muñoz, Doctor of Nursing Practice, Family Nurse Practitioner
Mayra is a graduate from the University of Maryland, and is passionate about providing excellent & quality patient care. Mayra is fully bilingual in English and Spanish. She is a full-time provider at our office.
Ambili George, Doctor of Nursing Practice, Family Nurse Practitioner
Ambili is a graduate from the University of Maryland and serves as a part-time provider at OMG. She has vast experience in various healthcare settings across the USA. Ambili is committed to providing excellent healthcare delivery. She also speaks Hindi and Malayalam.
